L. Ron Hubbard - Founder of Scientology

L. Ron Hubbard Mr. L. Ron Hubbard is the sole founder of Scientology and Dianetics. His life work stands at more than 5,000 writings and 3,000 recorded lectures into the philosophy of Scientology and Dianetics. These works have, of course, touched and helped tens of millions.

Although best known for Scientology, Mr. Hubbard can not be so easily categorized. In fact his research and findings are so broad and proven to so many that one may say his life was extremely varied, his influence felt across Earth. There are the millions that know him for Dianetics alone, then there are the Captains of Industry that know of him only for his technology of administration and management. There are children across Africa that only know of L. Ron Hubbard as an educator, and then there are the countless individuals over the world that know of him only as the founder of the universally workable drug rehabilitation techniques.

Mr. Hubbard certainly does not fit into the popular misconceptions of "religious founder" as an aloof and contemplative figure. Above all, he is the man that brought to us the only major religion to have emerged in the twentieth century, Scientology.

Mr. Hubbard was born Lafayette Ron Hubbard on March 13th, 1911 in Tilden, Nebraska. During his childhood he meets and befriends a local Blackfoot Indian tribe, learning the tribal lore.

As a young man L. Ron Hubbard became America's youngest Eagle Scout. During this important period in his life, L. Ron Hubbard also met and started to learn from Commander Joseph "Snake" Thompson, who had recently arrived from Vienna, studying under Sigmund Freud.

Travelling around the world with his father, who is a navel officer, L. Ron Hubbard experienced many varied cultures, including Hawaii, Japan, China, the Philippines and Hong Kong, not to mention San Francisco and Montana.

By 1930 Mr. Hubbard was studying engineering and atomic and molecular physics at George Washington University, while conducting experiments concerning the structure and function of the human mind. While for entertainment on the side, it is at this time that Mr. Hubbard took up flying. To earn a living, though, he begins to write for local newspapers, and writing fiction for publication.
